Fig Preserves

  • 1 peck figs
  • 1 pt. water
  • 1/2 lb. sugar for every lb. figs
     
 
Wash and stem figs. Put sugar and water on figs. When sugar is thoroughly melted (overnight), place in large pot and cook slowly until syrup is thick, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Place in clear jars and seal.
