Pumpkin Pie Cake

  • 1-15 oz. can pumpkin
  • 1 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1-12 oz. can evaporated milk
  • 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • Cool Whip
     
 
Mix the pumpkin, sugar, eggs, salt, evaporated milk, and spices together. Pour into an ungreased 9x13 inch cake pan. Sprinkle the cake mix on top of pumpkin mixture. Melt the butter and cool slightly before pouring over cake mix. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Bake 1 hour at 350°. Cool before cutting. Serve with Cool Whip.
