Waldorf Astoria Frosting

  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 t. vanilla
Cook flour and milk until thick; cool. Cream sugar, shortening and margarine. Beat at high speed until creamy, then add flour mixture and continue beating until fluffy. This may take some time. When fluffy, add vanilla and beat until well blended.
