Crockpot Apple Butter

  • Apples, enough to fill a one gallon crockpot
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 3 t. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 t. cloves
Slice and core, but do not peel apples. Half fill the crockpot with apples. Add the sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Then finish filling the crockpot with apples. Cook on low with lid on 16 hours. Remove the lid. Smash cooked apples with a masher. Turn crockpot on high. Do not cover. Cook 1 hour. When cool, put mixture through a blender. Apple butter may be frozen or canned.
