Waldorf Astoria Frosting

  • 1 c. milk
  • 4 T. flour
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
     
 
Cook flour and milk together in saucepan until thick, stirring constantly. Chill. Meanwhile, cream sugar, shortening and butter at high speed until well blended. Slowly add flour and milk mixture by spoonfuls. Add vanilla. Continue beating until mixture is of whipped cream consistency. Will last several days in refrigerator.
