Never Fail Yeast Rolls

  • 1 1/2 c. hot water
  • 2 pkgs. powdered yeast
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. salt
Mix hot water, yeast and sugar in a large bowl. Let stand approximately 10 minutes to activate yeast. Using an electric mixer, slowly add 2 cups of flour to the yeast. Add egg, oil and salt. Beat until smooth textured. Add remaining 2 cups of flour and let rise until dough doubles in size. Knead. Roll out dough and cut into rolls; let rise. Bake at 400 for 12 to 20 minutes or until browned.
