Crock Pot Apple Butter

  • 5 qt. tart apples
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
Fill a 5-quart crock-pot heaping full with apples. Drizzle sugar over sliced apples. Sprinkle cinnamon, cloves and salt over apples. Cover. Begin cooking on high, then lower heat and cook all day until thick and dark in color. Stir occasionally throughout the day. Place in containers, cool, and freeze.
