Cake Cobbler

- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. shortening
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Pie fruit or fresh fruit of your choice
- 1 stick oleo
Stir sugar, flour, milk, shortening, baking powder and salt together. Melt oleo in 8 x 8 inch baking dish. Spoon dough mixture into melted butter. Spoon fruit on top. Sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg for peaches or cinnamon for apples. Bake at 350° until done. |
