Brie and Sasuage Breakfast Casserole
By: Committee - 1 (8-oz.) round Brie
- 1 lb. ground hot pork sausage
- 6 slices white bread
- 1 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
- 7 large eggs, divided
- 3 c. whipping cream, divided
- 2 c. fat free milk
- 1 tsp. dried rubbed sage
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- Garnish: chopped green onion
Trim and discard rind from top of Brie. Cut into cubes and set aside. Cook sausage in large skillet until crumbled and no longer pink; drain well. Cut crusts from bread slices and place crusts evenly in bottom of greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Layer evenly with bread slices, sausage, Brie and grated Parmesan cheese. Whisk together 5 eggs, 2 c. whipping cream and next 4 ingredients; pour evenly over bread and cheeses. Cover and chill for 8 hours. Whisk together remaining 2 eggs and 1 c. whipping cream and pour over chilled mixture. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes until set. Garnish with green onion. |
