Carmel Pie

- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. oleo
- 2 cups milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 3 Tbsp flour
- 9" pie shell cooked
Brown in skillet: 1/2 cup of sugar, 3 Tbsp. oleo Heat 2 cups milk & add to the carmelized sugar mixture above. Add 3 egg yolks, 3/4 cup sugar & 3 Tbsps. flour. Cook until thickened. Pour into cooked 9" pie shell. Top with egg whites beaten stiff with 1/8 tsp. cream tartar, 1/3 cup sugar, & lots of love. Place in hot oven (350°) until egg whites are lightly browned. Let cool and enjoy. |
